Dark and Stormy

funny real estate - Cloud Lamps Make Me Hungry
My most favorite Pin of all today! Too cool, right?

Equally cool is the progress on the scrappy Project Linus quilt.
Last Sunday, I promised to show you how the blocks
would come together (as if there would only be one design,)
but in my typical creative process I now face options...
So, I thought that choosing together would be fun!

In the Comments section, leave me your favorite design
(each named in honor of our current stormy skies)
and I'll gladly make the most popular one.
 Storm Clouds
Thunder Bolts & Lightning
Gathering Storm

These three options show only a portion of what
would be the whole quilt, hopefully enough to give you
a good idea of the repeating pattern.
Next week I'll announce which one I'll be sewing!

Scrap Happy

Last week, I left off settling in for the
evening to sort scraps.
I sorted larger pieces from smaller ones.
I sorted by color until I found the floor again,
and then found myself surrounded by a beautiful rainbow.
Having decided on a scrappy nine patch design
and a color scheme, I dove into all those piles
and began cutting squares.
Lots of squares.
Those squares became half square triangles,
and today those triangles were paired and pinned,
ready for the sewing machine.

Tune in next week to see how the blocks come together.
(I can hardly wait!)

Well, after all the sorting, cutting & pinning
these homemade protein bars made for a delicious treat.
Meagan is right, her bars really are pretty tasty!
This recipe calls for coconut oil, which has recently
been getting attention mainly for its properties
that may minimize the onset of Alzheimer's.
I don't know if that's true, but I do know it was
interesting to use and tastes good.

Refueled, the sewing machine calls.

Spring Is In The Air

At sunrise this morning I noticed
somebunny must have stopped by in the night.

More bunnies.

As the Etsy shop grows, so too does the fabric scrap pile.
I'm settling in tonight to face the task of sorting scraps.
This is my first step as I consider a new (scrappy) quilt design.
I'm itching to make more quilts for Project Linus
and I personally believe scrappy quilts just feel cozier.
*Sigh*

But first, what's for dinner tonight?
Why, let's check my Pinterest recipe board:
I know my dish doesn't look like the one I Pinned,
but it sure does taste great!
And it was easy.
